Our Foundation Mares
Our foundation mares are gone now, they blessed our lives for such a short time. They came to us as aged mares and were treasured, loved and cared for. They died with dignity and are buried here on the farm. They served us well and will never be forgotten, we miss them very much. Their sons and daughters will carry on their legacy of ancient majestic beauty.
Bint Masarra

Bint Masarra is the dam of 12 foals. Bint Masarra was sired by *Tuhotmos, out of a *Tuhotmos daughter, making her 75% *Tuhotmos! 37.5% Moniet El Nefous, 37.5% Shahloul, 37.5% El Sareei. Within Sheykh Obeyd breeding the sire line to Ibn Rabdan through El Sareei is rare. The inbred Shahloul son *Tuhotmos bred to his own daughter created one of the most intense and closely bred mares in the history of Sheykh Obeyd breeding. While breeding this tightly could have created a genetic nightmare, in Bint Masarra it created a breeding mare supreme. One needs only to see her foals by the different stallions from which she was bred to see the power in this little chestnut mare.
Glorieta Dalima
Glorieta Dalima was one of the finest mares ever produced in the world. She was balanced with a great beauty. Glorieta Dalima is a fine producing mare. Each of her foals is as exotic as you would ever want. Their heads are sculpted beautifully with great width between the eyes and jowls. They are truly a headhunters dream with a large jibbah and big black soulful eyes. Athletic ability and beauty in one package? You bet, Glorieta Dalima's sons and daughters are blessed with tremendous ability, free flowing shoulders with a wonderfully long stride plus gorgeous heads with large eyes and naturally arched necks. When you set eyes on them, you will know they are "Arabian".
*AK Jaheena

*AK Jaheena was born in 1974 at the Egyptian Agricultural Organization. Her dam and sire were both top quality breeding stock with foals exported all over the world. Jaheena was imported as a four year old mare in 1978 by Bentwood Farms. She spent most of her productive years being bred to *Ibn Moniet El Nefous and other stallions residing at Bentwood. *AK Jaheena has proven worthy of her ancestors producing fine colts and fillies. Some of her get are Bint Jaheena, AK Bint Jaheena , Meadow Mahonri, Meadow Mansour and Hadban Al Nazhi. In all, she gave birth to 11 foals. While she was past breeding age when she arrived, she is represented here by her two of her sons.
*Bint Hindia

*Bint Hindia was bred by Ahmed Hamsa of Egypt. She was born in 1979 and was the dam of many foals. We bought her to breed to our beloved *Waheeb, in 2001 at the age of 22 . We were not told this but later learned that she would never have another foal. Well, she had other ideas. When we got her home she went directly to *Waheeb and was bred. She gave birth to her last foal in 2002, a bay filly we called Bint Waheeb. We bred her again but she lost a chestnut filly at 9 months, she told us she was not going to try again.
Ramses Kora

Ramses Kora joined our herd to be bred to *Waheeb after she gave birth to a beautiful filly. We so wanted a *Waheeb son or daughter from her but it was not to be. She carried a filly full term but the baby died during birth. She was retired and died early in 2008. Ramses Kora is the Dam of two mares in our herd and is grandmother to our wonderful colt Abu Waheeb.
