Straight Egyptian Hadban Enzahi Arabian Horses

Imported Hadban Enzahi Sheykh Obeyd Arabian Horses

Between 1946 and 1970, 17 Sheykh Obeyd Arabians of the Hadban Enzahi Strain were imported into the USA from Egypt. This number should have created a very valuble dynasty and could have left a legacy for the future. However, only three are represented in Sheykh Obeyd breeding programs today. *AK Jaheena, *Gamila and *Masarra.

(A fourth mare,*Mamdouha, was in foal at the time of her importation to the stallion Enzahi, her foal, *Gamila produced several foals and went on to create a dynasty of her own within Sheykh Obeyd bloodlines. Everything that decends from *Mamdouha is through *Gamila so I have not counted *Mamdouha as one of the three imported mare families availabe today.)

Mares:
*AK Jaheena    (Waseem x Mahbouba)
Imported in 1978, Dam of 10 foals, three Sheykh Obeyd sons. All are available today. Dam line will be lost to Sheykh Obeyd if *AK Jaheena fails to produce a filly. She is 27 years old so this is not likley but she is in a Sheykh Obeyd breeding program.

*Alfambra   (El Sud El Aaaly x Kareman)
Imported 1986, Died without leaving any foals.

*Ansata BintMisuna   (Nazeer x Maysouna)
Imported in 1970, Dam of four foals, two were Sheykh Obeyd, however neither bred on within Sheykh Obeyd lines.

*Ashwak   (Ibn Shahrzada x Basima)
Imported to Canada in 1986, Dam of six foals, one Sheykh Obeyd son that was gelded. *Ashwak is not in a Sheykh Obeyd breeding program and this line will be lost to Sheykh Obeyd breeding if she is not bred to a Sheykh Obeyd stallion.

*Bassama EAO   (Anter x Basima)
Imported in 1972 to Germany, Dam of 14 foals none were Sheykh Obeyd.

*Bint Shaams    (El Sareei x Shams)
Imported in 1970, Dam of six foals none were Sheykh Obeyd.

*Dawlat   (Anter x Shahrzada)
Imported in 1965, Dam of 15 foals none were Sheykh Obeyd.

*Gamila   (Enzahi x *Mamdouha)
Imported in 1946, Dam of 12 foals, five were Sheykh Obeyd. This family had 21 Sheykh Obeyd foals born in two generations, however only three are availabe today all from her daughter Anchor Hill Hamla.

*Lamiaa   (Nazeer x Leteefa)
Imported in 1970, Produced no foals

*Mamdouha    (Khier x Samha)
Imported 1946, Dam of nine foals, two were Sheykh Obeyd, one available today (*Gamila see above).

*Masarra    (*Tuhotmos x Bint El Nil)
Imported 1973, Dam of 10 foals, one was Sheykh Obeyd and is available to day. Bint Masarra has been a prolific producer with 3 daughters and 4 sons, sadly, one was gelded.

*Saleema   (Anter x Basima)
Imported 1973, Dam of six foals none were Sheykh Obeyd.

*Serenity Shahra   (Anter x Shahrzada)
Imported in 1968, Dam of 14, foals, two were Sheykh Obeyd. One died before leaving any foals, the other was not bred with Sheykh Obeyd lines.

Stallions:

*Bassami   (Ibn Shahrzada x Basima)
Imported in 1986, Gelded in 1988, No recorded foals.

*El Akhrani   (Nabras x Bint Rustem)
Imported in 1950, Sire of four foals none were Sheykh Obeyd.

*SF Ibn Nazeer   (Nazeer x Lateefa)
Imported 1973, Sire of 41 foals, 5 were Sheykh Obeyd. One stallion had four colts, three were gelded and one is in a Sheykh Obeyd breeding program. The others were not bred within Sheykh Obeyd.

*Serenity Abu Simbel   ( (Ibn Maisa x Bint Shams)
Imported 1970, Sire of 21 foals none were Sheykh Obeyd.

A total of 70 foals were born from these 17 imported horses, 21 were Sheykh Obeyd. Today, there are seven horses available, six are Hadban Tail female. Three stallions and three mares. One of these mares is *Mamdouha dam of *Gamila so there is really only two mares left with Sheykh Obeyd today. It is hard to beleive that this many horses could be lost in such a short period of time.
